Wow, I just realized that I have MANY outfit posts that I have not posted yet. I guess this is a good thing since the past couple of weeks I haven’t taken any pictures LOL!
It’s been a busy few weeks and more busy weeks ahead. I’m looking forward to the Toronto Petite Bloggers (Petite Toronto Bloggers?) meetup happening this weekend!! I’m sure there will be many posts about this one 😉
The next few posts will be outfits from BEFORE I got my hair done recently. You’d think I’d want to be showing off my new hair in all my posts right? Well…the problem is that I’ve had less time to blog because I have to spend time straightening my hair!!!! I know, priorities, right? 😛
Anyway, here is an outfit that I had been meaning to share because it’s probably one of the only times that I wore my bright yellow coat from this post. I think this is another contender for the Color Brigade, no?
I think I can still wear this coat in the spring when it’s a bit cool out. I don’t wear this coat as much as I would like to as I will explain later….
Close up of my earring:
Love that yellow coat! So much better to punch up the colour in outerwear!
I love that yellow coat on you!!! But I understand…my man hates leggings and skinny jeans so I try not to wear them too much around him but I do sneak them in sometimes cuz I love them 🙂
@kimmie oh boo I hate when sizes sell out! I could see the blue on you 🙂
@LaLaaLove What? She hates the skirt, oh no! I love that skirt, I feel like it’s too dressed up for work so I don’t wear it that often, but I probably should wear it anyway.
@graceOh thank you Grace :)LOL well an elf hate and striped stockings might be suitable at Christmas time…maybe?
@Elle OMG Elle you just reminded me, my husband hates puffy shoulders!!! And I LOOOVE puffy shoulders especially on blazers.
@Julia Vorob’eva Thank you so much Juila, and I appreciate you stopping by!
wow, what a gorgeous coat! I love it! the colour is the best for this season!
WHAT?! He doesn’t like thia amazing coat? I think yellow is a BEAUTIFUL color on you…hmpf, men! Bf doesn’t like puffed sleeves even though I told him it’s princess-like therefore fairytale like…he also doesn’t get “flowy” items. I disregard him because he just doesn’t get it. In any case, your outfit is terrific…I can totally see why it was well complimented. I think the tucked in cardigan look suits you incredibly well!
Wow, that yellow is amazing! I love it! It totally brightens everything up and puts an immediate smile on my face!
Haha, I don’t think my friends would ever complain about something I wear even if they didn’t like what I was wearing. They might object if I wore something really horrendous.. like red striped stockings and an elf hat.
My ex rarely liked what I wore, but I think it’s because most of it was too big on me. I’ve changed my wardrobe quite a bit since then.
I love the yellow! t’s definitely a breath of fresh air after all the gloomy weather we usually get!
My mom absolutely HATES the H&M lace skirt – She thinks it looks too “old”.
I love the yellow coat! I wanted the blue version of the coat, but when I finally saw it reach clearance, they didn’t have my size left. 🙁
and I hate it when my tights stick to my skirts. it’s the worst!
@SewPetiteGal Thank you!! 🙂
@Aubrey LOL does he like anything?!? I guess he likes you in either jeans or a black dress 😛
@Kiki I know, mean! 😛
@PetiteXXS I think he thinks it’s TOO bright! I have some bright accessories and dresses which he likes. Maybe it is just the yellow for clothes. He can’t hate yellow in general because we used to have a yellow car!
@CessOviedo Water!!! Brilliant! Thanks for the tip 🙂
@{av} oooh thank you so much!
@Melissa Thanks Melissa 🙂
@Tara OMG Tara you could sooo pull off a yellow coat I can SEE you!
@Really Petite Thanks Annie! Yes, certainly bold amongst all the grey I own 😉
@Sweet Laundry Bhuhahaha! I should totally do that! It wouldn’t be too hard 😉
You look really great in yellow! I could never pull this off. It looks very polished with the skirt and cardigan. And I think it’s a great idea to wear it to events with large crowds. Maybe you can get lost on purpose one time and then when you are reunited with your husband say “see, this wouldn’t happen if I was wearing my yellow coat!”
I am loving that yellow coat! It’s bold but it looks great!
I love your yellow coat…want!
That yellow jacket is AWESOME!!! I love it! I can’t believe he doesn’t like it, I think it’s fantastic. I really love this entire outfit, honestly. You look incredible!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom’s Closet
that coat = INCREDIBLE. I adore yellow–and yellow coats = even more awesome! xoxo {av}
Lovely way to bring some life to your outfit! Love the classy accessorizing, advice? sprinkle some drops of water to your tights, it’ll take away sticky effect, just be careful not to get all wet!

Lol… why does your husband hate it so much? Does he hate all yellow items in general? In any case, I think it looks fabulous on you! I also tried that coat but it was too big for me.
I love the coat! It is so bright and refreshing! Men just don’t get fashion sometimes… xoxo Kiki
lmao @ your husband’s reaction to the coat.
My beau hates lots of things: short shorts, jean skirts, flats and wedges to name a few! lol And anything “bright” it seems. So, perhaps you’re luckier than you think!
I absolutely love your earrings btw!
Definitely a contender for the Color Brigade!! I heart that yellow jacket on you and the jewelry is so super gorgeous = LOVE!
@Cee LOL Cee!!! Sponge Bob!!! I think Big Bird would require me to be tall hahahaha! I’m looking forward to the Toronto meet up, not as large a crowd as Kileen’s, but I’m sure it will be a fun time!
Hehe, your husband called you Big Bird in this jacket, right? Pshhh, if that’s the case, you’re on fashionable Big Bird 🙂 I really like all the colors and prints you paired together in this outfit. They complement each other so well!
Looking forward to all your pics from the Toronto meetup! I really enjoyed Kileen’s Dallas feature.
@PetiteLittleGirl Oh I’m sure the yellow cardi will look great on you! You will definitely know how to style it.
Too bad you won’t be in Toronto, but next time you come visit let me know!
@GoodFrameofMind Thanks for your comment! I’m going to check out your blog now 🙂
@Vicky Guys ARE weird! You’d think they wouldn’t even notice LOL! Actually my husband isn’t a teal fan either, he seems to like neutrals or soft colours, but I want to go BOLD! He prefers teal to yellows though 😛
@littlenashua I think I’m going to try it with grey next time – I can see it with purples too but I might look like a cartoon character then 😛
@Michelle ooh a slip! I don’t have one short enough for that skirt, but that’s a really good idea, thanks Michelle!
@Callandra yes I felt like I was wearing shorts!! I kept walking funny all day LOL! I was feeling particularly bold that day, I will probably wear the yellow coat with more muted or complimentary colours when spring decides to get here.
I love the coat, Elaine. I’ve been into yellow pieces lately too. I just bought the yellow cardigan from Ann Taylor. I do think it’s a bit too yellow for me. Yellow will certainly brighten up those winter days.
I wish that I can come up and join the meet up. Have fun this weekend. I am sure you ladies will have a blast.
@hurricanekerrie This coat is sooo YOU!!! I could totally see you rocking this. No to belted tops? but that’s a petite MUST! LOL!
@Hope Glad my husband isn’t the only one! oooh I can’t wait to see your new trench!
@kileen
Thanks Kileen! He’s not a fan of super bright clothes, but perhaps I will convert him 😉 Anyway, it’s not him wearing it it’s me 😛
i think the coat is fab!
The Classy Confidante
Love the colors together. That coat is to die for!!

Love the yellow coat on you, Elaine! You should wear it more often, to work, that is, so your husband doesn’t complain. 🙂 Guys are weird, you would think they don’t care much about what you wear, but they have a lot of comments when you wear something they don’t like. lol. My hubby’s pet peeve is the color “teal”. Yup. He’s ok with all the bold colors you can imagine but teal does nothing for him. Weird, right?
I love this outfit. I just got a yellow cardigan this weekend specifically to wear with my white/black floral sheath dress and my new AT black/white polka dot dress. I love how yellow looks with black, white and grays. This is cute and I love the coat.
Sigh, it is the same with me. Sometimes I let my bf talk me out of an outfit but there are times where I put my foot down! I love the bright coat and it will definitely brighten up gloomy weather.
Lol!! Yes, there are a few items that my husband is so-so about. I will wear them when it is not us alone.
Try wearing a slip under your skirt. I have that same problem with some skirts…I do not own a slip, but I assume that would work. :p
I cannot wait to see your new hair pics!!
I love the yellow coat and the colour will surely brighten up any boring day! Also, love your accessories! =)
I simply HATE it when my skirt or dress sticks to me in the winter time!! I think your outfit is fab and the coat is fab too, but I don’t think I’d wear them together….maybe because it’s yellow on yellow…? My husband prefers skirt and dresses to pants, but he doesn’t mention it very often. Now I can’t wait to see your new hairstyle!!!
What!?! How can your husband not love that coat?!? I love it. I think there’s so much personality and happiness packed in it. Love, love, love! My bf doesn’t like it when I belt my tops. (He just doesn’t get it…)
Love the coat, but I hear ya- my husband doesn’t like anything bold and isn’t afraid to tell me. I just got a gingham trench, he def doesn’t like that! haha!
lol elaine– i see where your priorities are these days 😉
i have to disagree with your husband. i love the yellow coat. it’s my favorite piece. super cute outfit and i love the colors you incorporated.
awww, it’s too bad your husband doesn’t like the yellow coat. i personally LOVE it! and i’ve never heard of Suzy Shier before but i absolutely love the pattern of that skirt! perfect color brigade entry! 🙂
cute & little
