ON SCENE: Consonant VIP Cocktails, Skincare & Luxury Event

Posted on April 24, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine
One of Toronto’s favourite brands Consonant recently held a VIP shopping party for their customers and fans. I sent Ashley to go check it out as she’s been interested in their products for a while. As a hint – get on their customer list so you too can be invited to the many workshops, seminars and events they hold at their 2479 Yonge Street Toronto flagship store.
~~~~~~
I was lucky enough to attend Consonant’s VIP event dubbed Cocktails, Shopping and Luxury! I immediately jumped at the chance to attend – Toronto Beauty Reviews have been a huge fan of Consonant in the past, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
The Consonant Event was loaded with product, swag, makeup, beauty, and food! All things that go straight to my heart!
Ilia Makeup was on hand to offer guests natural and green makeup touches. The line up was huge! I’m loving all the lip colours, as shown above.
Also on hand were Cheeky Monkey Nails, giving the guests expert manicures. Completely complimentary, it was such a treat for the guests to indulge on such a cold and rainy day. What luxury!
My first stop on the list? Investigating Consonant’s HydraExtreme serum. I love my serums, and with this little baby winning the Canadian Beauty Award for Best Product, I had to check it out.
Priced at $149.00 CAN for 30ml, you may think this is pricey. But, the tiny amount you need for your face will make the product last. Dubbed an extreme hydration booster, and blended with Cassia Seed Extract, your skin is instantly smoothed, moisturized and firmed. I’ve taken some samples of this, and if it works, it’ll be my next big skincare purchase!
On another end, Consonant was showcasing their Organic Body lines. Available in 3 scents (unscented, citrus, and spearmint), this anti-oxidant, intensive therapy, and ‘green’ range comes in body wash, body lotion, and cream. What’s even better is that it comes in tiny travel sizes, so you can test it out before you buy (and it’s a bargain, at around $6.00 CAN ea!).
This little soap goes hand in hand with a good cause! Help Somebody Soap and Consonant Body gives 100% of the proceeds to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. For $12.00 CAN, this soap is both organic and a good way to give to charity.
The last thing Consonant showcased at their event? Their Healthy Skin Body and Face detox system. I saw these flying off the shelves that night, they were that popular! The Healthy Skin for Face detox system is 100% natural, and allows your body to simply detox from the ingredients found in normal, regular, and over the counter store products. From the first use, you’ll find your skin is healthier, smoother and softer. Each kit comes with:
  • 50ml Ultra Moisturizing Organic Face Cream OR 50ml Ultra Moisturizing Organic Face Cream for Dry Skin
  • 125ml Organic Foaming Face Wash
  • 15ml Ultra Firming Organic Eye Cream OR 15ml Ultra Moisturizing Organic Face Cream
  • 4ml Ultra Moisturizing Organic Lip Conditioner
What’s about the Healthy Skin Body Detox? It contains 99.4% of natural ingredients, and retails for $49.00 CAN. What it includes:
  • 125ml Organic Foaming Face Wash
  • 250ml Organic Body Lotion, 250ml Organic Body Wash.
  • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
  • Trying out @fentyskin’s Cookies & Clean Detox Face Mask! I love a good mask, and goodness knows my skin needs a bit of help nowadays! ➡️This is one of the products I featured in my blog post about Black-owned beauty brands. I love that it’s not too drying, makes my skin feel refreshed, is cruelty-free, and is part of the Clean at Sephora collection! Have you checked out anything from Fenty Beauty or Fenty Skin? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #blackownedbeauty #blackownedbusinesses #cleanskincare #fentyskin #cleanatsephora #claymask #charcoalmask #crueltyfree #crueltyfreeskincare #crueltyfreebeauty #torontopr #torontoblogger #selfcaresunday #skincareroutine #skincarejunkie #skincarelover #cleanskin
  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon
