On Scene: Express Pop-Up Closet

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Elaine
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express Canada. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m getting so excited that the Express Canada store at the Toronto Eaton Centre will be opening soon! Check out my post on Express at World Mastercard Fashion Week. To give shoppers a preview and to get them all revved up and excited, there will be several pop-up closets taking place leading up to the Grand Opening event on November 21st, 2012!

The first two pop-ups were held last weekend on Friday and Saturday at the AMC at Yonge Dundas Square. Ella Pretty and I attended on Friday evening and we had such a blast! It was a nice girls night out – sushi, “window” shopping and meeting the great Express Canada representatives. We even each won a $25 gift card! Some people in attendance were really lucky – they won a men’s dress shirt or a pair of women’s pants. All we had to do was show up, speak to one of the reps who told us to text a secret word to them and we would find out what we won! It was that easy. And we claimed our prize on the spot!

The holidays were definitely the theme for the pop up closet. Luxe dresses in a dusty rose colour with faux fur for warmth and statement necklaces were some of my favorite looks. I also loved the sequined top and embellished bags. I have issues because lately I’m attracted to anything sparkly and glittery!

I’m usually not into fur or faux fur but I just love the look of this dressed up sweater dress paired with the fur collar. I think this might be on my wish list!
And really, how girly is this dress!? I can see it working for so many occasions! Plus, that necklace is amazing. I would even pair that with a T shirt, jeans and a blazer!
Gah, I told myself I don’t need any more bags or purses, but that sparkly one on the left is making it really hard for me to keep that promise to myself.

And see…more sequined items. I have issues I tell you…issues. Show me lace and sequins and I’m there!

I also loved some of the casual outfits – the cute booties and wool jackets would be perfect for cozy dinners out or for going Christmas shopping.
I personally don’t think I could walk in these booties, but I love the ruggedness of them paired with the super high heel!
And of course, how can you go wrong with a classic pea coat in a vibrant colour?

The crowd just absolutely loved it! Here’s a picture of Ella Pretty and I posing for George Pimentel (this guy is everywhere! I was honored when I found out he snapped our photo!)

Don’t forget, you can also enter to win a shopping spree so you can spend your winnings at the new Toronto Eaton Centre location when it opens up. Just fill out the contest entry form.
There will be more chances to catch the pop up closet too! (Don’t forget to show up and ask for the secret word to text to them so you can win!!!).

The pop up closet will be at Dundas Square from 11am – 3pm on Thursday November 15th.
Also Friday November 23rd – Sunday November 25th from 11am – 3pm the pop up closet will be at the Eaton Centre, on level 1 across from MAC.

During all these pop ups there will be a FASHION magazine editor on location to answer any of your style questions.

Of course don’t forget about the Grand Opening event set for Wednesday November 21st! I’m super excited so I will definitely be there 🙂

Let me know if you plan on attending any of these pop ups and of course if you do go tell me what you won!!!

  • Lately, I’ve been feeling a more subtle look. ☁️ Swapping out the black winged liner for a smidge of grey; trading in the full-coverage base for something a little softer. Not exactly sure why, but so far, I like it. ✨ Wearing @milkmakeup sunshine skin tint in light* + @uomabeauty drama bomb mascara* + @annabellecosmetics kohl eyeliner in charcoal* + @madeupbeauty_ lip conditioner in piña colada* + @lysbeautyofficial bronzer in motivate *gifted products @shoppersbeauty @natapr_ @matinee.studio @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #subtlemakeup #naturalmakeup #crueltyfreemakeup #torontopr #muotd #softmakeup #everydaymakeup #affordablemakeup #thoughtfulchoicesatshoppers
  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
  • Thoughtful Choices at @shoppersdrugmart makes it easy to find products that you AND the Earth will love! This collection has a TON of different products, and is designed to help you make mindful choices when purchasing beauty, skincare, haircare, and wellness essentials. ✨ Products in the TC collection are: ✅ cruelty-free and free from parabens, pthalates, SLS, formaldehyde + more AND/OR ✅ packaged in minimum 30% recycled content or use refills Check out the Thoughtful Choices collection online or at your local Shoppers to see if your fave products made the cut! *Products kindly gifted @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors
  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. Available at @shoppersbeauty @shoppersdrugmart! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #winkylux #shoppersdrugmart #shoppersbeauty #drugstorebeauty #affordablemakeup #crueltyfreebeauty #crueltyfree #phlipbalm #moodring #colorchanging #lipbalm #torontopr #torontobeautybloggers
