Petite Fashion Challenge #17: Candy Colourized

Posted on June 28, 2012 by Elaine

Yay I’m excited after my slacking to participate in this month’s Petite Fashion Challenge! You’ll notice I “Canadianized” the title swapping “colorized” for “colourized” :P.

This month’s challenge is a really creative one and it’s being hosted by the ever lovely Sew Petite Gal.

The Challenge: Candy Colorized

Take a bowl full of colorful candies (M&Ms, Jolly Ranchers, jelly beans, etc.), close your eyes, and draw 2-3 pieces.  Now use those colors (+ a neutral of your choosing) to form the basis for your ensemble.

**Extra brownie points if you post more than 1 colorful ensemble or if you add a DIY element (because I love DIYs so much!) :D**

I love this idea! But I have to admit I cheated…I actually don’t eat candy that often and all the candy I like my husband hates LOL! So I thought about what my favorite candies were and at the moment they are mini eggs, jelly bellies and fruit mentos!
Here we go with the cheating – I picked two colours – yellow and pink to be my colours for this challenge. And my neutral is white (finally got white jeans woohoo!)

My failed attempted at channeling my inner Callandra

The shoes are actually more vibrant in real life. I love them they’re so comfortable! Please don’t mind my overall messiness – I’m quite frazzled most days lately 😛 And yes you see we have no floors. This summer is all about the renovations.

  • A moody day outside calls for some @givenchybeauty glamor! I’ve always been a fan of their Prisme Libre loose powder, and the newest addition to the Prisme Libre line is just as gorgeous. It delivers 24-hr matte finish, blurs imperfections, and contains skincare ingredients like capucine extract, annatto, and pink clay to purify and strengthen skin over time! Makeup with a side of skincare is a combo I can definitely get behind! • A quick reminder that Pride doesn’t stop after June. As I mentioned in my Pride post last year, I’m very aware of the privilege I hold as a White, cis, straight-passing queer woman. Celebrating Pride openly is not a risk to my safety. I can choose to whom I disclose my orientation and when. My identity is generally not seen as a threat or a negative thing. This is absolutely not the case for so many in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. ➡️ As companies move away from the “rainbow washing” of their branding for the month of June, please continue to
