PREVIEWING: Caryl Baker’s Spring Awakening 2013

Posted on April 3, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine
Ashley check’s out Caryl Baker’s Spring collection:

Caryl Baker always has the best makeup collections for the season. They’re always in season and on trend – and their latest Spring collection is no exception!

I was lucky enough to try out some of the shades from their Spring Awakening 2013 Collection. Lucky for the user, there are a multitude of colour choices to choose from.

What I love most about this collection is the fact that it is a bunch of pale pinks and neutrals, mixed with little pops of colour. It’s a perfect transition from the bleariness of winter.
Above is the selection of colours that I got to try. My absolute fave? The lipstick, which is now my go-to shade.

The Spring Awakening Collection contains the following choices:

Lipsticks ($18.00 CAN): ‘Nude’ is the ultimate mood for spring. Caryl Baker is giving us six amazing rich and creamy selections to choose from. The best part? All of these colours are perfectly suited for springtime. All are absolutely divine, and you’re sure to find one that matches your skin tone perfectly. The lipstick I have is now my ‘go-to’ shade – it’s a perfect pink! Available in:

  • Honey-Do
  • Playful
  • Bloom’n
  • Sweet Treat
  • Kiss Me

Blush ($22.50 CAN): These colours are perfect for spring – not too bright, not too muted. The three pink shades can be best coordinated with the rest of your collection. They’re bound to make your skin glow! Available in:
  • Simply Spring
  • Spring Awakening
  • Spring Fever

Lip Pencils ($15.00 CAN): These lip liners match perfectly with your lipstick of choice. Caryl Baker provides us with a tip for spring – you can use two different tones to achieve a different lip look, as long as they are in the same colour family! Interesting! Available in:
  • Silk
  • Sweet
  • Maple
  • Antique
  • Rose
  • Misty Brown

Eyeshadows ($18.00 CAN): Caryl Baker eyeshadows are my favourite because they are always so pigmented! What’s good about these shadows is that they are the best way to incorporate some colours into your makeup routine. Caryl Baker has 9 eyeshadows to choose from in their Spring Awakening line:
  • Drizzle
  • Fresh
  • Barefoot
  • In the Buff
  • Dewy
  • Sunshine
  • Peachy
  • Cool
  • Breezy

Gloss ($17.50): The ultimate way to finish off your look! Add this sheer colour over your lipstick shade of choice. Perfect to add a little sheen and shine to your look!

I was lucky enough to try out the following:
  • Eyeshadows: Dewy & Peachy
  • Blush: Spring Fever
  • Lip Pencil: Misty Brown
  • Lipstick: Bloom’n
The Peachy eyeshadow I’ve been wearing all week – it’s the perfect shade for Spring because it’s light. Pairing it with a darker brown, or even a light peachy shade really makes your eyes pop. The Bloom’n lipstick, as I’ve mentioned, is amazingly creamy and glides on so smoothly. It’s my favourite nude pink shade of the season.

Here’s some swatches of the colours:

Top to Bottom:
Lipstick – Bloom’N
Lip Pencil – Misty Brown
Blush – Spring Fever
Eyeshadows – Peachy & Dewy

If you don’t feel like buying all these individually (which can be expensive), Caryl Baker has a deal going on now where you can buy 3 eyeshadows, 1 lipstick, 1 lip pencil, 1 blush and 1 gloss for a grand total of $75.00! What a deal!

  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. • Lately, I’ve been feeling a more subtle look. ☁️ Swapping out the black winged liner for a smidge of grey; trading in the full-coverage base for something a little softer. Not exactly sure why, but so far, I like it. ✨ Wearing @milkmakeup sunshine skin tint in light* + @uomabeauty drama bomb mascara* + @annabellecosmetics kohl eyeliner in charcoal* + @madeupbeauty_ lip conditioner in piña colada* + @lysbeautyofficial bronzer in motivate *gifted products @shoppersbeauty @natapr_ @matinee.studio @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #subtlemakeup #naturalmakeup #crueltyfreemakeup #torontopr #muotd #softmakeup #everydaymakeup #affordablemakeup #thoughtfulchoicesatshoppers
  • In case you haven’t heard (lol), it’s the @sephoracanada sale! A perfect time to explore new products - here are three of my top picks! @danessa_myricks @lysbeautyofficial @patmcgrathreal For more info on why I love each of these brands, check out my post about Black-Owned Beauty Brands on the blog! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #sephorasale #blackownedbeauty #danessamyricks #yummyskin #patmcgrathlabs #lysbeauty #luxurybeauty #crueltyfreebeauty #torontopr #bloggersofontario #beautywishlist #sephoravib #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors
  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
