Review: Eminence Apricot Whip Moisturizer

Posted on October 18, 2012 by Elaine

Have you heard of Eminence Organics before? I hadn’t until I started seeing Leanne of Living Water Therapies who is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor and Skin Therapy specialist. I started seeing her for my skin on the recommendation of my friend Kat.

Eminence Organics is a luxury organic skin line (hmmm there’s a theme this week! See my previous post) based out of Hungary.
First off, this line is EXTENSIVE! Just check out the little pamphlet that came with my moisturizer! It’s like a family tree of products LOL!

Leanne was kind enough to give me little samples of different products so I could see which I liked best. The hardest part was narrowing it down. All the products I tried out were fantastic. The thing you have to know about Eminence products is that they are really concentrated. Most of products do not contain any water so you can always add water to the product (in your hands) if you feel it’s too heavy.
The Apricot Whip Moisturizer is marketed towards those with normal to dry skin (not acneic like mine) but I found that just a little tiny bit helped keep my skin moisturized all day without it feeling too heavy. And it definitely did not break me out further. That’s the thing with products – sometimes they are marketed towards a certain skin condition but it may still work for you!

I liked it because I kept having an issue with my makeup sliding off my face by mid day because my skin was so oily. I tried different primers and foundations and techniques without any luck. Before I would think that a heavier moisturizer would worsen this effect but when I used this moisturizer my skin looked so much fresher at the end of day! That’s how I knew it was helping to keep my skin hydrated.

The smell of this moisturizer is great too – smells like real apricots. Well it should as it actually does use real apricots! Check out the key ingredients:
·         Apricot  Juice (to revitalizing and hydrating)
·         Carrot (for Vitamin A and carotene oils)
·         Corn germ oil (to enrich and moisturize skin)
·         BiocomplexTM (an antioxidant booster of Vitamins A, Ester-C, E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid)

All of Eminence products are free of harmful chemicals and animal by-products such as parabens, Petrolatum, Mineral Oils, Propylene Glycol and Sodium Laurel Sulfate. The products are also never tested on animals and use environmentally friendly packaging.
This product set me back $58. Eeeks – yeah not inexpensive by any means! But I use so little to moisturize my whole face and neck and you can even add a bit of water to it to dilute it (in your hands, not in the jar!) if you feel it’s too thick. This will also make the product last longer.
I have tried out a few of the other products in the Eminence product line so I’ll also give my thoughts on those in future posts.

Learn more about Eminence Organics on their website; like them on facebook; and follow them on twitter.

In Toronto you can purchase the Eminence Organics line at Living Water Therapies and you can buy them online at Spa Boutique.

  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon

I love a good mask, and goodness knows my skin needs a bit of help nowadays! ➡️This is one of the products I featured in my blog post about Black-owned beauty brands. • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
