Let’s face it, we are all hard on our feet – unless you never walk and keep your feet up all day and get daily foot massages and pedicures you MUST have some callouses and dry or rough skin on your feet. (If I just described your life – please fill me in on HOW you managed to obtain such a lifestyle!).
Admittedly my feet aren’t TOO bad – probably because I can’t stand to be in heels for more than a few hours – with most of those hours sitting at my desk. But pounding the pavement even in flats can be rough on your soles. So, what to do? I don’t have the time or the money to go for weekly pedicures and frankly I forget to take care of my feet at home a lot of the time.
I found out about this cool product called Solevation that takes the effort out of remembering to pamper my feet!
Here’s the Solevation still in it’s inner package – it’s about the size of a standard bath mat so it fits perfectly into a bath tub.
A close up of the exfoliating surface. There is a loofah and a sand surface. I love that you just plop this down in the tub and simply shuffle your feet on each surface as you shower! For really rough heels you can pivot back and forth pressing harder on the sand surface. Also if you don’t have sensitive toes you can curl your toes and buff your nails on the loofah surface! No extra time is taken to bend down and scrub your heels with a pumice stone or a similar tool. And no extra tools lying around in the tub.
Here’s what the under side of the mat looks like. Suction cups hold the mat in place – and the best part? After each shower it just sticks to the side of the tub wall or shower wall so it’s out of the way while drying! For me this is SUCH a bonus as my husband is always questioning why there are so many products and tools in the tub all the time (he knew he married a product junkie!).
With daily use your mat should last from 9 – 12 months. The cost is $28.50 + shipping (available in both Canada and the US) if you buy it online. A bit pricey I would say but if it saves you time and you don’t have to spend money on pedicure appointments or a bunch of other tools then I say it’s well worth it! Here’s a list of retailers that currently carry Solevation.
I actually really love the simple and earthy look of this product too – so not only is it functional but it should work in any space without being an eye sore.
I think this is a really great product. I’m letting my mom test it out because she is constantly buying pumice stones and loofahs to scrub her feet. This will probably be gentler for her back and she can do it everyday without having to set aside any extra time!
