Glymm Delivers Beauty in a Box

Posted on July 31, 2011 by Elaine
Many of you are now familiar with the Luxe Box which is a really cool concept.  In the US I was told they have the same thing called the Birch Box.  I recently stumbled upon a similar concept called a Glymm Box.  I had signed up for their emails awhile ago but I hadn’t had a chance to actually sign up and try their service out.

Well to my pleasant surprise Glymm.com contacted me to tell me more about the company and to partner up with Toronto Beauty Reviews to keep you, my readers, up to date on the world of fashion and beauty (how could I resist?!?).  I had a couple questions about the concept, hopefully my questions would be the same as other people’s questions too 🙂

Ok, so what is Glymm.com?
As I said, similar to the Luxe Box and the Birch Box a beauty Glymm Box subscription will get you a cute little beauty box filled with 4 – 5 sized deluxe-sized luxury beauty samples.  The samples will be hand-selected for you by Glymm’s panel of experts according to a personal beauty profile you will fill out.  I love this concept, it will make the whole experience more personal and suited to each individual.

How is Glymm.com different and how much does it cost?
Isn’t cost always the bottom line?  (It usually is for me anyway).  I was happy to hear that a subscription will cost $10/month or $110/year.  What makes Glymm.com so different? It’s the only Canadian company to offer a beauty box subscription AND a full online shopping boutique as well as an online fashion/beauty/lifestyle community. This way, you get to try the products out and talk about them in the community.  If you really love a product you can then also buy the full sized product directly from Glymm’s beauty boutique!

Is the Glymm box available in Canada only?
Right now Glymm only ships to Canada but according to the website a US box will be coming very soon! This makes me happy since I do feel bad leaving my American friends out 😉

What brands can I expect in my Glymm box?
Glymm says they will be showcasing luxury, niche and emerging brands.  Some of the current brands offered include Cargo (one of my favorites!), OPI, Stila, NARS, Gucci and Lise Watier (yay another Canadian favorite!).

Another thing I found interesting about the concept was the idea of Glymm Points which are essentially loyalty points (similar to Shopper’s Drug Mart Optimum points) which you accumulate and can use towards the purchase of full sized products! (LOVE that!)
It’s been only a month since Glymm.com was launched and the August Glymm box was sold out in two weeks (I missed out – but look forward to my September box).  Glymm is still in ‘beta’ mode so at the moment there are only a limited number of memberships available.  If you’d like to sign up for a Glymm.com membership you can click the image below which contains my referral code.  You don’t have to buy a subscription to become a member, however if you do sign up with my referral code and buy a subscription I will earn some Glymm points!

I’m really excited to be one of Glymm’s Canadian Beauty Ambassadors!  I can’t wait to receive my very first Glymm box and be part of the first group of people to experience this exciting site and community 🙂

Also….Glymm.com and I will be hosting a giveaway VERY soon!  So please keep your eyes peeled!  (hahaha – you like my teasing don’t you? 😛 )  In the meantime, go visit the site and explore.  I especially love the Expert Advice section that has tips and tricks, videos and tutorials!

Disclaimer:  This is a sponsored post.  I am now an affiliate for Glymm.com.  Clicking on any referral links will earn me Glymm points.  I will also be receiving my September Glymm Box courtesy of Glymm.com and you may see some of my posts on the Glymm.com site in the future.  All images courtesy of Glymm.com.

***Also, don’t forget that my current giveaway is ending Wednesday August 3rd***

  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
  • Thoughtful Choices at @shoppersdrugmart makes it easy to find products that you AND the Earth will love! This collection has a TON of different products, and is designed to help you make mindful choices when purchasing beauty, skincare, haircare, and wellness essentials. ✨ Products in the TC collection are: ✅ cruelty-free and free from parabens, pthalates, SLS, formaldehyde + more AND/OR ✅ packaged in minimum 30% recycled content or use refills Check out the Thoughtful Choices collection online or at your local Shoppers to see if your fave products made the cut! *Products kindly gifted @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors
  • The big reveal!!! TL;DR - removal was painless and left my nails in a WAYYYY better state than with dip or bio-gel removal I did still have some trouble with the ends being thin (defs needed to trim the length so they wouldn’t rip ), but the rest of the nail bed was so much more comfortable and healthy-looking than when I’ve had other long-wear manis removed ✅ All in all, I’d say I’m definitely an Après-X convert! Especially as someone who doesn’t want to get a mani every month, this is perfect for special occasions. The nails were really
