Summer 2012 Essentials

Posted on August 6, 2012March 30, 2020 by Elaine

There’s still one month left of summer, yet as we Torontonians know, the heat and humidity can go on much longer. That heat and humidity can wreck havoc on your ‘normal’ beauty routine. Thus, we must learn to adapt! There are certain products that can be used during these hot summer months to lessen the impact of the weather. I’ve put together a list of ‘essential’ summer products that all ladies should use during the summer months. Let me know what you think!

·      Marcelle BB Cream 8 in 1 Balm –
On those hot and sticky days, BB cream is the perfect substitute for heavy foundation and concealer. This BB cream evens out your skin tone, while providing minimal coverage that mattifies your skin. See Toronto Beauty Review’s review here.

·      L’Oreal Paris Infalliable Lacquer Liner –
The eyeliner that will not budge! Even in the summer heat and humidity, this eyeliner will stay put all day. The coverage is as smooth as silk, and it’s been specially formulated to remain consistent all day. See Toronto Beauty Review’s write up here.

·      Olay Cucumber Body Wash –
This product smells absolutely amazing, and truly reminds me of summer. The light fragrance remains subtle during the day, and the moisture ribbons cleanse and hydrate. I’ve been using this product every day for a month, and truly notice a difference.

·      Batiste Dry Shampoo –
Helps soak up that dirt and oil on those long summer nights. Need I say more? Check out Toronto Beauty Review’s write-up here.

·      Sally Hansen Air Brush Legs –
For ladies like myself who have paler skin, Sally Hansen Air Brush legs are a must. It’ll provide minimal colour to those of us who require it, and it will blend together colour to those who are looking to fill in spots where the sun missed. Also, it provides a lovely shimmer. See Toronto Beauty Review’s post here.

·      L’Oreal Careese Lipsticks  –
The lipsticks are sheer enough to be lightweight on the lips, but pigmented enough to provide beautiful coverage. Great for hot days!

·      Neutrogena Make Up Remover Towelettes –
A great product to wipe away a day’s worth of make-up, grime, oil, sweat and dust. Perfect for the end of a hot summer day. Pop them in the fridge for a end-of-day cool down.

·      Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen –
My go-to sun care product for the summer. It goes on extremely light, absorbs quickly and provides some of the greatest sun coverage I’ve seen in a sunscreen.

What are your summer essentials? I’d love to hear them! Leave a comment or email me at ashley@torontobeautyreviews.com.

  • Been a bit busy lately I’m overwhelmed with love and gratitude - we feel so lucky to have had such an amazing celebration! Took us a decade, but it was definitely worth the wait! A few folks to thank: @alexa.studios is an angel on this earth and an incredibly talented photographer who managed to capture our essence and make us look fabulous @karinalemkeweddings helped us plan a beautiful, colorful, and intimate event, handling all the last-minute drama so I could just relax and enjoy myself @themarryinglady created a ceremony with the perfect vibe for us: romantic and silly and heartfelt
  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small

  • Happy Gotcha Day to the cutest, most annoying fur baby there ever was. Two years feels like it’s gone by in an instant, and yet I can hardly remember what life was like before you came into our lives. Here’s to many more years of couch snuggles, hikes, vegan wheat-free treats, playdates with your bestie @ripley_the_terrier, and sleepovers with @llabc.ca when Adam & I need a break We love you, Goose. : First pic is by the insanely talented @alexa.studios —————————————————————————— #gotchaday #torontodogs #dogstagram #torontowedding #distillerydistrict #mytbrfave #torontobeautyreviews #tbrcontributors
