If you’re looking to very slightly contour your face for your big evening out, the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Contour:  Contour & Highlight Palette is where it’s at. I really love how it is very subtle; accentuating the natural beauty of your face rather than giving you an entirely new one! The specially designed brush that is included is a unique shape that makes contouring your cheekbones extremely easy.

Make sure your face is properly exfoliated, and moisturized beforehand so the powder doesn’t stick to dry patches and creates even highlights and shadows. The brush has a v-cut in the middle of it so when you run it diagonally along the powder, one side picks up the highlight and the other picks up the darker contour shade with no mixing in between! I used the Light palette and it worked well for me, but there is also one for Medium and Deep skin tones.

The highlighter has very tiny sparkles in it when you look at it in its package but once it is on your face it does not shine, only glows. This is nice because I find some highlighters can make me appear greasy if there is too much shimmer in it. I like how the powder is very lightweight giving you a barely-there contour so the rest of the world can assume you were born like that way 😉 It comes in a compact size perfect for taking with you to your friends’ place (if you’re like me and often choose to get ready with your friends beforehand).

Another nice feature  is that on the back of the palette there are directions on how to contour your face. This is nice because the steps are very simple and the diagrams are clear!

La Palette Lip

The new La Palette Ruby and La Palette Nude by Colour Riche were beauty staples backstage for the L’Oreal Paris beauty experts at Paris Fashion week 2016/2017.

What I really love about these L’Oreal palettes is that you have a lot of room to create a wide range of looks. One thin layer adds a sheer tint of color that still looks more on the natural side. Layer it and you have bold, moisturizing colour that makes your lips pop!

On the back of each palette there are instructions on putting together different lip looks. Easy step by step instructions lead you to creating a Seductive Ombre or a Sensuous Ombre. All the colours you need for this is stored in a compact little case that snaps shut and can be carried in your purse or small clutch while leaving you room for other essentials.

Its formula is not sticky and very moisturizing. I find you do have to reapply it every so often for touch-ups but it looks and feels great. I tried the Ruby 01 Palette as well as the Nude 02 Palette.  Both are gorgeous with tones that range from light to dark. The Nudes include some pink tones as well as brown. I really love the dark brown, and wore it to a wedding to compliment my elegant vintage-inspired attire.

Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara

I was absolutely blown away with the Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt mascara! I do not have very long eyelashes so am always on the hunt for a mascara that will lift and lengthen my lashes and sort of give me similar results to when I get false eyelashes put on. A lot of mascaras claim to do this, very few actually do. This one really does.

The innovative mascara comb is like nothing I have ever tried in the past. It appears to help collect mascara along the upper lash line, filling in the gaps and creating a natural eyeliner look. The formula is a bit thicker than what I am used to but I love it. It literally does sculpt your lashes, lifting and fanning them out for a dramatic effect. I could even notice them when I stepped back from my mirror and stood away from it.

It is very easy to apply and although thick it isn’t lumpy. The brush applies the perfect amount. I added two coats for extra drama and do not remember the last time my natural eyelashes looked this big. It comes in Blackest Black, Black and Black Brown as well as Waterproof Blackest Black and Waterproof Black.
