Lazy Long Weekend Days

Posted on August 3, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

On top of going for a motorcycling ride we had a nice lazy lunch in the neighborhood.  It was hot, hot, hot out but there was a nice breeze.  I went for something simple and tried my hand at not trying to match too much for this long weekend outfit. Here is the results: Top: …

Sometimes Saftey Come First!

Posted on August 2, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

It’s a long weekend here and the weather has been beautiful!  Family gatherings and barbecues haven’t left much time for updating the blog! Since I’ve found the blogging world I’m thinking much more about what I wear and how it fits and how to make it more interesting.  But there are certain times when all…

Another BR dress: Summer Brights

Posted on July 27, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

Most of my wardrobe is fairly neutral but I do have some bright pieces that I pair with my neutrals. I fell IN LOVE with this pink Banana Republic dress from the BR outlet and I would say it’s the brightest article of clothing I own.  It just makes me feel happy when I put…

Work Wear: Cream and Brown and a long lost skirt

Posted on July 26, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

The other day as I was going through my closet and discovered a long lost skirt!  I completely forgot that I had it and I couldn’t even remember when the last time I wore it was.  I was skeptical that it would even fit but I managed to make it work: Skirt:  Suzy Shier size…

Work Wear: Black and White

Posted on July 23, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

In general I’m a really organized person.  While I don’t need every single minute of my day planned out I do like to have an idea of how my day will go in my mind. This includes what I will wear for work.  If things go well in my day and evenings I usually plan…

Wardrobe Dissection: Pinks and Purples

Posted on July 22, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

Another piece of clothing I’ve had in my closet forever is a pinky-purply dress I got YEARS ago from a store called anne.x.  I’m pretty sure they’re out of business now because I couldn’t find anything on them.  Anyway, it was a really last minute purchase as I was invited to a casual garden wedding….

Casual Work Wear: Capri Pants

Posted on July 21, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

My current place of employment has no real dress code.  For real.  Most days people are in jeans, some people wear track pants and sweaters with holes in them. Some ladies reveal a little too much in my opinion and some guys need to leave their logo t-shirts at home. Some departments have uniforms depending on the job function. …

Plight of a Petite

Posted on July 16, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

The two bloggers that inspired me to start a blog of my own are Alterations Needed and Petite Asian Girl .  I am petite myself standing at a whopping 5’1 and 3/4″ (yes…I ALWAYS include the 3/4″) and I have always found it difficult to find clothes that fit.  I honestly just accepted it.  Clothes looked decent…

  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend
  • Happy NYE, folks! For those who had a great 2022, cheers a fab end to a fab year. To those for whom 2022 was not so great - toast to a new beginning! Either way, hopefully you’re able to find a moment for gratitude and comfort tonight. ✨❤️ Wearing: @ardellbeauty Magnetic Megahold lashes* @cheekbonebeauty Sustain complexion pencils* 1, 2, and 6 + Sustain eye pencil in green turquoise @lorealparis Brow Stylist Frame & Set in 214 @cbvisage lipliner in Rescue Me *Products kindly gifted —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #ardellholiday #cheekbonebeauty #crueltyfreemakeup #carylbakervisage #redhead #torontopr #torontomakeup #nyemakeup #holidaymakeup #simpleglam #tbrcontributors #bye2022

  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me.
