TESTING, TESTING: Facial at Yonge Eglinton Laser Centre

Posted on July 23, 2013 by Elaine

You may be familiar with the Yonge Eglinton Laser Centre. I hear their radio commercials on laser eye surgery and laser hair removal. But did you know that they do facials there?  Yup! And even better they use one of my favourite lines exclusively for their facials: Éminence Organics.

YELC pic

I’m going to admit that I had some pre-conceived ideas of YELC since it is a pretty well known Cosmetic Centre in the city. My initial thoughts were of a cold and modern place so I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with friendly faces and a comfortable atmosphere.
I was then introduced to Renee who would be doing the Éminence facial on me. She explained to me that while normally you think of facials conducted in a spa like setting – while there is nothing wrong with that YELC is more “results oriented” so the rooms are relaxing but not traditionally spa like. In fact my treatment room looked more like a cozy doctor’s office rather than a room full of candles and aromatic scents. This was completely fine by me as I can pretty much relax anywhere!

I’m not new to Eminence facials – I’ve had a few done by Carol at Living Water Therapies and I’ve done many posts on Éminence products before so I really don’t have to tell you how much I love this line. My only issues are that they are pretty expensive and there are just so many products in the line it’s hard to figure out which one works for you!
Some stand outs for me that Renee used on me and told me about:
Herbal Recovery Oil
Herbal Recovery Oil

If you’re still weary about face oils you really should give this one a try. It absorbs into the skin so nicely and doesn’t feel greasy (I know, hard to believe but true!) Even though this is for mature skin it contains Clary Sage oil which is used to balance oil production –  perfect for someone like me with oily skin and anti-aging concerns.

Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist
Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist
I’m going to admit that it’s the scent of this one that draws me in. Neroli is one of my favourite natural scents and I think I would be spritzing this on my face all day! Of course as nice as it smells it’s formulated to be effective too. Neroli oil is a good antiseptic and skin softener. It also contains a natural retinol alternative boosting collagen production.
Persimmon & Cantaloupe Day Cream SPF 32
Persimmon & Cantaloupe Day Cream
Here is another one that I love the scent of! You can probably tell I’m a sucker for lovely scents but in the back of my mind I also know that items that contain “fragrance” are not so good for you. This is probably why I love Éminence so much. Everything smells AMAZING but they are natural scents from the ingredients in the products. This day cream is a bit heavy to the touch but you need very little and it absorbs nicely into the skin. And with an SPF of 32 you can skip a step in your morning routine!
If you are in the market for an Éminence facial or would like to know more about the products definitely contact Renee at YELC. She can teach you so much and you can tell she is passionate about what she does for a living so you know you are in great hands.

  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon
