TESTING, TESTING: Nexxus Hydra-Light Weightless Moisture

Posted on July 25, 2013March 30, 2020 by Elaine
The sun is shining and we are all in a much better mood but do you find that your hair changes and tends to feel dry even in the summer months? The problem with trying to add a ton of moisture in the summer is that you don’t want to have your hair get weighed down. Summer is all about lightening up your products so when I found out about the Nexxus Hydralight Weightless Moisture line I thought this would be a great line for the warmer months. Ashley tried out some of the products from this line so read on to find out her thoughts.
*****
Even with the summer months upon us, I can’t be the only one who struggles with dry hair 365 days a year, right?

My hair has a mind of it’s own – sometimes it’s light and fluffy, other times its dull and limp. But consistently, it’s dry! I’ve tried all the weightless moisturizers and leave in conditioners you could buy to no avail. But now – thank god for the new Nexxus Hydralight Weightless Moisture line to rescue my poor moisture-stricken hair!

Products:
  • Nexxus Hydralight Weightless Moisture Leave in Conditioning Foam
  • Nexxus Hydralight Weightless Moisture Root Lift Mist

Price: varies from store to store, generally less than $10.00 CAN

Available: In Drugstores Nationwide
What It Claims:
  • FOAM: “…prevents flyaways and static; helps make hair more mangable and flexible…”
  • ROOT LIFT: “…targets roots to lift hair for added fullness and body…”

Review: I should note up front that these two products are part of an advanced care line called the Hydralight. The Hydralight line also contains a shampoo and conditioner – which means the entire line should probably be used together for maximum results. I only tried the above two items.

The Leave in Foam was my favourite of the two. Used fresh out of the shower and before you blow dry your hair, this little foam does incredibly against static, frizz and flyaways. I’ve been known to sport all three of those, so this foam is a miracle worker! You only need a dollap – I’m talking maybe the size of a toonie, at the most. Any more then that and you risk adding extra grease and oil onto your head. Also, using this product on day old hair meant, for me, added shine and oil. Use strictly after the shower and you’ll probably manage to get a good two days out of your hair.

The Root Lift Mist was okay for me. I didn’t see a major difference in the way my roots handled – my hair tends to fall flat by the end of the day, regardless of product or a professional blow out at the salon. So, long-term results for me were a bit iffy. The added bonus for me? I could use this product on wet or dry hair and it seemed to still work – no added oil! This was the product I was reaching for for day two hair – so overall, not such a downer!

Added bonus – I thought the products smelt delicious!

Overall: Enjoyed both products! I would love to see what they could do combined with the Hydralight Shampoo and Conditioner!

Has anyone else tried the Nexxus HydraLight Weightless Moisture line? What did you think?

  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small
