I have to admit, I was excited to get an invite to the Veet EasyWax launch mostly because it was being held at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto.
A “pre-screening” featuring the new Veet Self-Heating Roll On system. Ummm…I ended up arriving embarrassingly late and as I sat down the presentation was essentially over (hides head in shame!). I did get to see the demo though.

Basically the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On is similar to electrical roll-on devices that have been used in salons in Europe for years. All you do insert the wax cartridge, plug the device in and it will heat up to the perfect temperature. I have been blessed with not having to worry much about body hair so I am not a waxer myself but I remember friends saying how annoying it was to have to heat up the wax in the microwave and having it cool too much before they were done. This sounds like perfect solution!
The kit comes complete with the roll-on device, the wax cartridge, charger, “perfect finishing wipes” and what I guess are the strips you use to pull off the wax (see, not a waxer!)
The system promises to deliver up to 4 weeks of smoothness and it’s light and compact – it also claims to be simple to use even for first time users!
The people at Veet and Maverick PR threw a great launch party. The Hollywood theme had the meeting room of the grand and luxurious Trump Hotel all decked out in pink. As guests entered the room they walked down the pink carpet and were bombarded with “paparazzi”.
There was a beauty station where you could get makeup and hair touch ups. If you wanted to try out the Veet EasyWax system yourself there was someone on hand to show you how!
I had my makeup done by the lovely Jessica Jean Myers who I finally got to meet!

Here are some pictures of the event.
^Yummy food, everything was Pink!^
Oh did I mention Lights was to perform that night? Sadly the old lady in me couldn’t wait long enough to see her performance but Maverick PR was kind enough to send me some pictures which I’ll show later.
The gorgeous Oliva of The Cheap Girl
The awesome Lisamarie of Beauty Crazed getting her makeup done
For some strange reason I didn’t take a picture of Monica of Beauty Parler. Trust me, she was there; she’s so beautiful in person and it was our first time meeting so I was glad we finally got to hang out!
Along with Lights there were also a lot of local celebrities in attendance. Me being me didn’t even recognize anyone there LOL! If I had noticed these people I would have asked to take pictures with them! Maverick PR was kind enough to send along some photos with credit going to JJ Thompson:
Juno Award winning rap artist, Shad and Jian Ghomeshi, host of Q on CBC
‘Marilyn Monroe’ getting photographed by the paparazzi
Paige Dzenis, Fashion Magazine, at the beauty station
Nathan MacKenzie, Brand Manager, Personal Care, Reckitt Benckiser (Canada),and Melissa Grelo, Host, CP24 Breakfast
And to my amusement, I made it into the group of pictures with all the important people hahaha!

All in all a really great launch event, very memorable.
