It’s really important to take time out for yourself. You could go for a run, go out out for a nice dinner or read a great book. Whatever you do, make it a ritual and do it consciously! I’m a huge advocate for getting spa treatments. Recently I experienced the Vinoperfect Facial at Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris.

 {Getting Pampered: Vinoperfect Facial at Miraj Hammam Spa}

I was treated to an amazing facial at the Miraj Hammam Spa (located in Toronto’s Shangri-La Hotel).

As per their website, here is a description of the Vinoperfect Facial that I received:

VINOPERFECT TREATMENT (RADIANCE / ANTI DARK SPOTS) | 60MIN

Specifically created for tired skin, this treatment restores radiance and vitality. The sculpting massage is the highlight of this treatment and is offered with essential oils and small hot and cold basalt stones which awaken the luminosity of the complexion.

I should let you know that I RARELY get facials because I break out very easily. In fact, for the past few years I would only get this facial from Pure+Simple.

I’ve visited the Miraj Hammam Spa at the Shangri-la several times before so when I was asked to experience the facial, I knew I’d be in good hands! Since I’m expecting, I have to be a bit more cautious about what products I use so before hand I asked for a list of what be used during the facial.

If you have sensitive skin or any allergies, I would recommend always doing this before trying out a new service. If there are any products or ingredients you’re unsure about, be sure to ask when you make your appointment and see if there are any substitutes that can be made.

For the Vinoperfect facial, the main ingredient used in many of the Vinoperfect products is “Viniferine”. It comes from the sap of the grapevine and is 62x more effective than Vitamin C for lightening and brightening skin!

Cleansers

Your esthetician will assess your skin and decide which combination of products would work best during the facial. Here are the Vinoperfect facial cleansers that are used:

Gentle Cleansing Milk

• Milk cleanser that cleanses and removes make up from face and eyes
• Leaves the skin clean and soft using nourishing and soothing agents of grape-seed and sweet almond oil
• Good for dry or all skin types.
• Can be used morning and night

Foaming Cleanser

• Soap free formula that doesn’t strip the skin’s natural balance
• Chamomile and red grape extract soothes and creates radiance
• Can be used morning and night

Toners

During the Vinoperfect facial you’ll experience these 2 best selling toners!

Grape Water

• 100 percent natural grape product hydrates and soothes tired, stressed skin
• Spray on your face at any time of the day to refresh and moisturize

Beauty Elixir

• Plant based elixir smoothes and tightens pores to give the complexion a boost of radiance
• It can be used any time throughout the day to give your skin an extra boost
• Can be used to set makeup application

Exfoliants

It’s important to exfoliate your skin to get rid of the dead surface cells. This will help bring out the new skin underneath and help your other products to absorb and work better. Depending on what your skin needs at the moment of the facial you may use one of these exfoliants.

Gentle Buffing Cream

• This scrub eliminates impurities, dead skin cells and excess oil, while softening and hydrating the skin
• For all skin types, even sensitive
• Can be used 2-3 times per week

Deep Cleansing Exfoliator

• This scrub has a strong degree of exfoliation; it will refine skin, remove excess oil and dead skin cells
• For anyone looking for a strong exfoliation (great for men too!)
• Can be used 2-3 times per week

Massage Concentrates

Probably one of the most relaxing parts of the Vinoperfect facial was the facial massage! You can expect to be transported and fully relaxed with the help of these products.

Overnight Detox Oil

• A dry oil that helps to renew and protect overtired skin while you sleep
• A blend of 5 different essential oils is effective for cell renewal and toxin elimination
• Use at night only, alone or under moisturizer

Overnight Recovery Oil

• A nourishing and regenerating night oil restores comfort to dry and sensitive skin
• Has a blend of 6 different essential oils that soothes redness, irritation and helps to repair skin’s barrier
• Use at night only, alone or under moisturizer

Mask

To help further refine your skin texture, a mask will be applied.

Glycolic Peel Mask

• This peel mask refines skin texture and creates a radiant complexion with a grainless exfoliation of glycolic acid and papaya enzymes.
• Perfect for dull skin to remove the dead layer of cells, to create a healthy glow
• Leave on skin for 10-15 minutes and use 1-2 times per week.

Serum

A correcting serum is applied to help reduce and dark spots you might have and reveal a glowing complexion.

 Vinoperfect Radiance Complexion Correcting Serum

• Oil free serum, boosts skin’s radiance, reduces and lightens dark spots, and corrects and evens skin tone
• This is Caudalie’s alternative to laser procedures
• Apply morning and night to cleansed skin prior to moisturizer
• After 28 days there is a 73% disappearance of one or more dark spots.

Creams

Depending on what time of day or evening you receive your facial, one of the following will be applied to help seal in all the wonderful products that were previously applied.

Vinoperfect Radiance Moisturizer

• Oil free moisturizer smoothes while soft focus pearlizers create an even complexion and glow
• The use of soft focus powders help to diminish pores over time and the Viniferine reduces dark spots and improves radiance
• Use in the mornings (SPF 20)
• Makes an ideal primer for under makeup

 Vinoperfect Cell Renewal Night Cream

• Overnight peeling moisturizer renews your skin upon wakening for a smoother and even complexion while diminishing pores in number and size
• Uses time release Glycolic acid creates a peeling effect while you sleep.
• Use at night only

Again, since I’m expecting, we substituted the Glycolic Peel mask for a moisture mask, used Argan Oil during the facial massage and instead of the Beauty Elixir a hydrating toner + the Grape Water was used.

I was more than happy with the whole facial. My skin felt amazing right away and for days afterwards too! Most importantly…no breakouts or reactions!
