Yoga Tree Grand Opening (Downtown Location)

Posted on April 26, 2011September 27, 2017 by Elaine

Thursday April 21st was an exciting night in the area of Spadina and Richmond in downtown Toronto. Boasting two other locations in Thornhill and Richmond Hill Yoga Tree opened up their third location at 140 Spadina Ave. Suite A201.

I was lucky enough to be invited by Lotus Leaf to enjoy a night of complimentary demo classes, drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a fashion show put on by Lululemon.

I’m originally a suburb girl that has recently moved to just outside of the city therefore I drive. I don’t take TTC…so parking for me was a bit of a pain.  I found a lot across the street but they wanted me to leave my keys!!!  After I refused they made a spot for me so that I could take my keys with me — sketchy!!!  And silly me couldn’t find the entrance but now that I know where it is it’s super easy to find 😛

When I arrived people were just staring to file in.
Here is the lovely reception area:

The crowd – it was a GREAT turnout! Notice that everyone is shoeless 😉

And of course there was a lot of great food!

Lemon and Fruit Tarts – soooo yummy!

Non-alcoholic Apple-Tinis right up my alley!

The Apple-tinis were courtesy of Almond Fresh (so many yummy recipes on the website!)

One of my favorites – David’s Tea
There were many local personalities in attendance as well including members of Toronto Rock Lacrosse Team and Toronto Argonauts, So You Think You Can Dance stars, and the cast of an upcoming Slice TV reality show.  Sadly, me being me, I didn’t recognize anyone 😛  So I MIGHT have pictures of these people but I wouldn’t know!  If there are pictures posted of people that you recognize, please let me know!
I did snap this photo of my favorite guest in attendance.  We arrived at the same time and joked that we might get our shoes mixed up LOL. I found out later he’s from SNAP.  If you’re reading this Mr. SNAP let me know and I’ll mention you properly!

  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
  • The big reveal!!! TL;DR - removal was painless and left my nails in a WAYYYY better state than with dip or bio-gel removal I did still have some trouble with the ends being thin (defs needed to trim the length so they wouldn’t rip ), but the rest of the nail bed was so much more comfortable and healthy-looking than when I’ve had other long-wear manis removed ✅ All in all, I’d say I’m definitely an Après-X convert! Especially as someone who doesn’t want to get a mani every month, this is perfect for special occasions. The nails were really

  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed.
