BEAUTY ROUND UP: Mother’s Day Edition

Yes it’s that time of year! Mother’s Day is next week! All of us has someone special in our lives who is  a Mother – our own mother, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, girlfriends and ourselves! (In my case mother to a very hairy child…)

Here are some of my picks for thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts.

Skin Care: For the mom that treasures her skin Minimalist is a new line from Pure + Simple that launched in April. An excellent anti-aging line developed by co-owner Jean Eng (Kristen Ma’s mom!) features 4 all natural products – Exfoliating Cleansing Milk, Face Lift Serum, Face Elixir and Face Cream. Each product features skin enriching ingredients such as organic oils and essential fatty acids designed to improve skin hydration and texture. Perfect for mature or damaged skin.

Body Products: For the mom that likes to be pampered at home how about turning her bathroom into a luxurious spa? Éminence Organics Apricot Sugar Scrub is made with raw sugar cane to gently exfoliate dead skin away leaving it soothed and buffed. Follow this up with their Apricot Body Oil – apricot oil blended with healing essentials oils create a luxurious massage oil for the skin. This winning combination is sure to please her senses as well as her skin!

Fragrance: The mom that loves smelling beautiful all the time will love two brands I featured on the blog this week! Dot & Lil’s Rice Flower Perfume Oil spray is my personal go-to fragrance (win it here – ends tonight!) and the Fruits & Passion Bamboo Eau de Toilette is a fresh and delicate fragrance perfect for summer (enter for a Bamboo gift set here!)

Thomas Sabo

Jewellery: Of course, what mom (or girl for that matter) doesn’t love jewellery? I’m loving this dainty little Paris inspired charm from Thomas Sabo Charm Club collection. With a mix of golds this little charm will go with any outfit.

Jewellery + Fragrance: How about putting the two together? I’m intrigued by this Lisa Hoffman Beauty Pearl Collection bracelet. It can be completely customized by choosing from 1 of 5 fragrances. So smart! As my MIL would say “someone’s always thinking”!

Flowers: The classic way to show someone you care is to bring them flowers! If you are in Toronto the Toronto Flower Market kicks off Saturday May 11th – just in time for Mother’s Day – at 99 Sudbury from 10 am – 3pm with markets being held on 5 Saturdays throughout the summer. You can shop the stalls of Ontario Flower Growers and enjoy food and beverages from 99 Sudbury Cafe. It actually sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon!
