Chatting Summer Foundation: FACE atelier Ultra Skin

Posted on July 24, 2017July 24, 2017 by Alysia

We’re in the middle of summer and you may have noticed a change in your skin – this also means changing your daily beauty routines. Not only do we change our skincare routine to accommodate the sweat and oil we endure on hot, humid days, we also change the makeup products we use. If you are just like me, I try to apply less makeup so I can be out the door quick-time to enjoy the sunshine. One transition I do is switching from full coverage foundation to tinted moisturizer. I think I found the prefect summer foundation:  FACE atelier Ultra Skin.

{FACE atelier Ultra Skin}

Lightweight, but great coverage

While still dubbed as a foundation, FACE atelier Ultra Skin is lightweight and applies like moisturizer but gives the same coverage as a foundation. It comes in a tube with a pump so it’s super portable for travel and also makes it easy to apply – with your fingers! It applies onto your skin so smooth and light, it feels like you don’t have anything on. It is silicone-based and has a built-in primer ending with a satin finish and light to medium buildable coverage. This is what I love the the most about this product, it goes on smooth but doesn’t require any powder to set. Concealer, blush and bronzer adhere to the skin flawlessly because of the primer.

11 Shades

While there are 11 shades to choose from, I chose two to test out: #5 (Cool – Medium Complexion – Yellow Undertone) and #6 (Warm – Light/Medium Complexion – Yellow Undertone) and both were too light for my face. I know in the winter they will blend in well but for the summer, as my skin starts to tan, they just won’t work.

I was slightly upset until I learned that FACE atelier offers Ultra Foundation with unique adjustors that will also work with Ultra Skin. The shades are 0-, 0+, 0++, Heat and Blaze – each will darken, lighten, add yellow or red undertones so with your existing foundation you can create a custom one based on the seasons.

While I am still puzzled at the fact that #6 is lighter than #5 and that both shades are too light for my face, I am a huge fan of Ultra Skin. I love how it applies on my face, the light coverage it gives yet I can still build it up but most of all, I love that it doesn’t melt away in the summer heat. The tube packaging makes it easy to travel with and there’s no need to carry a brush or sponge because it works best when you just apply with your fingers. This is truly a no-fuss product for summer time. FACE atelier products are available on their website and at retail locations.

What’s your favourite summertime foundation? Have you checked out FACE atelier Ultra Skin yet?

  • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon
