MUFE HD Microperfecting Primer Review

Posted on June 26, 2014May 18, 2015 by Alysia

It’s always great to revisit classic and staple products and the Make Up For Ever (MUFE) HD Primer is definitely one of those products. Let’s check out Alysia’s review and read what she thought!

*****

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge MUFE fan – I currently use their full coverage concealer daily and am addicted to their fake lashes. So when I was offered the opportunity to review the MUFE HD Microperfecting Primer, I couldn’t wait to jump at this chance.

I try not too wear too much makeup, especially foundation; but I will on weekends when I go out. However when going to work I like to just add a bit of warmth to my face with a bronzer.

Whichever routine you go with, you need to start with a good base to achieve flawless skin. I think it’s ideal to always use a primer because it preps your skin for foundation or powder and also sets the makeup for the entire day or night.

The HD Microperfecting Primer is a light, oil-free formula that creates a protective film on your skin’s surface and helps the foundation to be longer-lasting and more evenly applied. It has Silica Micro Beads that refract both man-made and natural light to hide imperfections and give a soft focus effect to the skin. The nourishing ingredients act as a moisturizer to protect skin from dryness.

The MUFE HD Primer is available in seven shades that correct and enhance colour:

#0 Neutral:  a translucent base for all complexions

#1 Green:  minimizes redness (ideal for rosacea)

#2 Mauve:  neutralizes strong olive undertones

#4 Caramel: adds a warm glow to deeper skin tones

#5 Blue:  gives porcelain finish to fair skin

#6 Yellow: adds golden tones to dark complexions

#7 Pink: adds brightness and warmth

I was given the opportunity to choose one of the seven shades. I decided on #7 Pink. The formula is very light and goes on smooth.

MUFE actually recommends that you dab the primer lightly with fingertips or use a sponge in a downward motion. After applying the primer, I wait a couple of minutes and apply foundation, BB cream or bronzing powder. It’s amazing how much better product goes on since I started using this as a base.

My skin looks flawless and bright and I noticed how much longer my makeup lasted and how fresh it stays. After using this shade, I am very interested in trying Neutral, Caramel or Yellow but right now I am very content with #7 – pink. You can purchase this at Sephora and it retails for $39.00. For the size of the bottle, it is well worth the price because you only need a very small amount.

Have you ever tried the MUFE HD primers before? What are your thoughts?

There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan!
