The Body Shop 2017 Holiday Collection

Posted on December 5, 2017March 30, 2020 by Alysia

I always look forward to seeing what The Body Shop creates for the holidays. Not only do they come up with great ideas and packaging but every year they select a cause where they donate proceeds from their sales. Before I show my favorites from The Body Shop 2017 Holiday collection, let’s talk a bit about #PlayforPeace.

{The Body Shop 2017 Holiday Collection}

PEACE PLAY PROJECT

The Body Shop has teamed up with International Alert to help refugee children be children again. It is a known fact that through play, children can express themselves and interact with their peers and Peace Play Project provides refugee children in Lebanon with a safe-haven in community centres. Here they can forget about the pressures they face daily and just focus on having fun. Every gift purchased from the seasonal collection helps these children to play in a safe place for a year.

In addition to this wonderful cause, The Body Shop remains to focus on Upcycling. All of the gifts in the collection transform into a game – quizzes, puzzles, mazes, etc. It’s less packaging to throw away since the packaging can be used to entertain children and adults of all ages. You can find more ideas on DIY or how to upcycle on their YouTube channel.

Now for my favorites from The Body Shop 2017 Holiday collection.

ADVENT CALENDARS

There are 4 different calendars that range from 12-24 or 25 days with beauty or skincare. Advent calendars are a great way to try out different products (if you buy it for yourself) or when gifted to someone, it’s a chance to introduce the recipient to products when may not have gone out to purchase themselves.

WONDER CUBES

The Body Shop 2017 Holiday collection

These addictive cube-like games are little boxes full of surprises – either lip butters or skincare – but it is really a “wonder” how you can keep moving and twisting the cubes around. It’s almost a stress reliever and very relaxing to play with.

ROBOT MONEY BOX

This is my absolute favourite because 1) the robot is adorable and 2) it teaches children to save and donate the money they put into this money box. The robot money box comes with a shower gel and lip butter.

STAR STAMP LINER

The Body Shop 2017 Holiday Collection | Toronto Beauty Reviews

With holiday parties and New Year’s Eve around the corner this liner will come in handy to glam up your holiday look. One end has a felt tip for a cat eye flick but the other end has a star stamp which you can use at the corner of your eye. How cute would that look?!?!

There is plenty more gift ideas at The Body Shop so don’t forget to pop into one of their stores or online. For more information on Play for Peace, check out the link here.

During this holiday season and for 2018, don’t forget to switch off, slow down and make time to play!

  • Been a bit busy lately I’m overwhelmed with love and gratitude - we feel so lucky to have had such an amazing celebration! Took us a decade, but it was definitely worth the wait! A few folks to thank: @alexa.studios is an angel on this earth and an incredibly talented photographer who managed to capture our essence and make us look fabulous @karinalemkeweddings helped us plan a beautiful, colorful, and intimate event, handling all the last-minute drama so I could just relax and enjoy myself @themarryinglady created a ceremony with the perfect vibe for us: romantic and silly and heartfelt

  • Happy Gotcha Day to the cutest, most annoying fur baby there ever was. Two years feels like it’s gone by in an instant, and yet I can hardly remember what life was like before you came into our lives. Here’s to many more years of couch snuggles, hikes, vegan wheat-free treats, playdates with your bestie @ripley_the_terrier, and sleepovers with @llabc.ca when Adam & I need a break We love you, Goose. : First pic is by the insanely talented @alexa.studios —————————————————————————— #gotchaday #torontodogs #dogstagram #torontowedding #distillerydistrict #mytbrfave #torontobeautyreviews #tbrcontributors

  • You *know* I had to! Once I had my wedding hair & makeup trial, I put the look TO WORKKK! ✏️ To get a sense of how my look would perform on my wedding day, I did: ✅ a humidity test ✅ a transfer test ✅ a kiss test ✅ a food test ✅ a crying test ✅ an exertion test It was a ton of fun and really gave me a sense of how the look would handle the various stresses of a wedding day. The tests showed what worked well and where we needed to make some small
