Discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans

Posted on August 17, 2016March 30, 2020 by Joanna

I am sure that most of us can agree to the fact that we all deserve a spa day now and then. Sometimes you have to book weeks in advance, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could bring the spa to you? You may not have heard of the Canadian, eco-luxury beauty brand T Langhans. It was founded by Tova Langhans in Uxbridge, Ontario. I got the opportunity to try out her new T. L. C (T. Langhans Cares) subscription box, chalk full of spa-quality products from the comfort of my own home!

Each box comes with a Cleansing Conditioner, Castille Shower Gel, four T. L Castile bars, Sugar Polish, Cuticle Oil, Handcrafted Soap, Hand & Body Cream and a couple of Loofah Slice Soap Savers.

I love the attention to detail, and how carefully everything was presented and packed to enhance the experience. Included was a little card that contained directions on how to treat yourself to a spa treatment at home using the included, full-size products!

I didn’t waste any time testing these out, especially after smelling everything!

Handcrafted Soap + Hand & Body Cream

Discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans // Toronto Beauty Reviews

  • Decorative
  • Great scent
  • Generous size, packaged in glass (not plastic) bottles!
  • Includes nourishing, natural ingredients

I placed this set of products in my powder room right away. I love the way they looked and smelled and they are both 250 ml each so they should last me awhile. The soap includes natural ingredients such as beets, distilled water, extra virgin olive oil and essential oils. The cream is moisturizing, makes my skin as soft as a baby’s and leaves no greasy residue. It contains ingredients such as apricot kernel oil, avocado oil and virgin olive oil. I cannot wait for guests to use these items. They are not going to be able to stop sniffing their hands.

T. L Cleansing Conditioner

Discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans // Toronto Beauty Reviews

  • Smells fantastic even once hair is rinsed and dried
  • Moisturizing and soothing to the scalp
  • Hair stays clean longer
  • Shiny, supple hair

The first step in the T.L.C spa treatment is to wash your hair using the T.L Cleansing Conditioner. It includes ingredients such as Virgin Coconut Oil and Quinoa. Like all the other products in the box it smells absolutely fantastic.

It is suggested you use a generous amount and I evenly coated my whole head (after dampening it). I massaged the mixture into my scalp after making sure it was all throughout. I then tied my hair up and left it to sit while I continued the rest of the experience. After it had sat on my hair for quite a few minutes I added a splash of water to my head, massaged it into my scalp some more and thoroughly rinsed.

I tied my hair up again so that I would not be touching it with the other products. This is what I have been using for about a week so far and my hair is shiny and hydrated, scalp is clean and it all seems to stay clean a lot longer!

Castile Shower Gel

  • Lavender Scent
  • Includes ingredients such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Essential Oil
  • Cleans and refreshes

The second step is to clean your body using the Castile Shower Gel. It is suggested to put some on a body buff. (keep in mind that at this point your hair is to still not be rinsed and should be tied up and coated in the Cleansing Conditioner). The Shower Gel smells like lavender and is clean and refreshing! After rinsing, it is time for the next step.

Castile Handcrafted Soap

Discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans // Toronto Beauty Reviews

  • The “Queen of Soaps”
  • Dates back to the 13 th century
  • Great for washing or shaving
  • Moisturizing, leaves skin extremely soft and not greasy
  • Draws moisture to the skin
  • Natural Ingredients

It is extremely hard to pick favourites with these products, but I absolutely adore the soap! It can be used for washing and/or as shaving cream – so I applied it for the latter.

To give you a little background: these soaps are a true Castile soap made with 100% Olive Oil. The first Castile Soap was created in Spain during the 13 th century and quickly became known as the “Queen of Soaps.” How neat is that? I daresay I do feel rather royal when I use them!

The soap includes Vitamins A &  E and is easily absorbed. Olive Oil is a natural humectant and also draws moisture to the skin. Each of the four bars smells fantastic with the scents of Bergamot, Lavender, Pink Grapefruit and Goat’s Milk and Oatmeal.

To shave with a Castile Bar I wet the soap and waited 30 seconds until a gel-like film formed on the surface. I then swiped it on the area where shaving cream was needed. I then shaved and rinsed. It left the area smooth, hydrated and nourished. I then placed the bar on one of the Loofah Slice Soap Savers included in the box.

I love my T. L Castile Bars! When I run out I do not think I will want to go back to regular shaving cream and may need to stock up on some more of these!

Sugar Polish

Discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans // Toronto Beauty Reviews

  • Gently Exfoliates
  • Intense Moisture
  • Fresh scent lingers after rinsing
  • Includes ingredients such as Apricot Kernel Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Shea Butter

Once both your body and hair are rinsed (remember to have your hair tied up before you openthe scrub, as it can be a bit greasy when you first apply it) open up your T Langhans Sugar Polish and scoop some out with your fingers. You should be away from the water at this point and use 4-5 scoops to fully scrub your body in gentle, circular motions. You can also polish your face with this once a week. Do not touch your hair, as your hands will be oily.

Rinse off all excess sugar and some of the oil to reveal gleaming, soft, moisturized skin! Finish by towel drying.

Cuticle Oil

  • Natural Ingredients
  • Helps sooth and moisturize dry and cracked cuticles
  • Generous size

Now you are clean, dry and smelling fabulous. What next? Well, there is one finishing touch to this whole experience and that is to use the T Langhans Cuticle Oil. The bottle is just under 30ml which I find to be a generous size for cuticle oil. It contains Sunflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil as well as an Essential Oil Blend.

The rest of you is well moisturized so it’s nice to have your cuticles taken care of as well. Place a drop on each cuticle and let the goodness soak in. Beforehand, if you wanted to treat yourself to a manicure, OPI Softshades Pastels has abeautiful range of colours that compliment the warmer weather and softer hues.

A T.L.C Subscription with a $225 value, can be purchased for $148 CAD + Free Shipping with a box delivered quarterly. All products in the box are made by founder Tova Langhans and 9% of proceeds go towards a cause chosen by the T. L Community.

T.L.C members also have the option of being part of Tova’s Focus Group which allows them to make suggestions on products they would like to see developed next, along with receiving samples before they go to market.

I really love the quality and personal feel to the products. This is definitely a unique twist on a subscription box and I love that this brand is from Ontario! If you would rather purchase specific products insteadreceiving subscription boxes be sure to visit her website to shop online.

I hope you enjoyed discovering Canadian Brand T Langhans with me! I’d love to know what you think!

  • I got Botox! (Technically, I got Nuceiva, which is a different brand of neuromodulator, but does the same thing) I’ve been feeling uncomfortable with the fine lines on my forehead, and wanted to try out neuromodulators! It was easier and much less painful than I anticipated, but definitely was a bit of an emotional journey. ➡️ I got 24 units during this visit, at a cost of $11 each. (Cost will vary depending on brand of neuromodulator, the clinic you choose, and the person who does the treatment) ➡️ This treatment will probably last around 3 months, and then will
  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan!
