Positively Radiant with Aveeno

Posted on September 3, 2018March 30, 2020 by Maddie

Aveeno is one of those brands that absolutely everyone has heard of, and for good reason: they have been around since 1945! We’re big fans of Aveeno here at TBR, so we were very excited to hear about the expansion of Aveeno’s Positively Radiant line, a range of face and body skincare products that promise to help you get your glow on.

Disclaimer: Products were sent to me at no charge for editorial consideration. All opinions are my own.

Aveeno’s Postively Radiant line is designed to improve what they call the “5 Factors of Radiance.” These factors are the culprits for dry, rough, and discoloured skin: uneven tone and texture, dullness, blotchiness, and brown spots. (Raise your hand if a change in at least one of those 5 Factors is on your “Better Skin Vision Board”…) Luckily, with products available for every step of your skincare routine from body wash to night cream, Aveeno’s Positively Radiant line can improve those 5 Factors, giving your skin a healthy glow from day to night.

How Does It Work?

The secret weapon in the Positively Radiant line is soy. While extremely tasty in their better-known forms of soymilk, tofu, and edamame, soybeans are essentially magic beans for skincare. Soy is packed with protein, vitamins, and antioxidants to help cleanse, hydrate and strengthen skin, all while evening out skin tone and texture with regular use. With soy in every product of the Positively Radiant range, it’s no wonder that the results are so striking!

What Products are Available?

Originally, the Positively Radiant line focused on skincare products for the face. Night cream, toner, CC eye cream, facial scrub and makeup wipes were all part of the initial release and have been well-received since their launch. Undoubtedly, the star product of the original range is the 60-Second In-Shower Facial. Designed to work with the steam of your shower, this cleanser gently exfoliates to remove impurities and brighten skin in just one minute. (Don’t worry: Aveeno uses plant-based and synthetic – not plastic – microbeads in their scrubs.)

The Positively Radiant line now includes 15 products, with the addition of body care items (body wash, body lotion, body color corrector) earlier this summer.

My Favourite Products

I’ve really enjoyed trying out all these Positively Radiant products over the past month! Thus far, my favourites are the Makeup Removing Wipes, the 60-Second In-Shower Facial, the Intensive Night Cream, and the Sheer Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30.

I love the convenience of the wipes; I keep them in my travel kit so I don’t have to bring liquid makeup removers and cotton pads with me on trips. Most importantly, they really work! One wipe can take off all my products – even my most stubborn winged liner – without irritating my skin or feeling sticky.  The night cream is thicker than many I’ve tried before, but still absorbs well and soothes my skin overnight. And if you’ve read my post about summer skincare, you know how important it is to find a broad spectrum sunscreen, so it’s no wonder Aveeno’s moisturizer + SPF is in my top picks as well!

Overall, I have found the Positively Radiant products to be:

  • Hydrating without feeling greasy
  • Easy to use and incorporate into my daily routine
  • Free of any harsh scent
  • Light and gentle enough to use every day

My skin feels so soft after using these products, and I definitely do see a healthy glow in my complexion. Since Aveeno products are so gentle, I haven’t experienced any irritation or redness, even with the exfoliants. Another bonus is the price point: Positively Radiant products are between $13-$26, and are available at most drug stores. With such a wide range of products available, and such an accessible cost, it’s easy to find something in the Positively Radiant line that works for you!

  • Fresh nails for Spring! This was my first time getting a dip powder mani. It was so interesting! Apparently it’ll last about 3-4 weeks. I like that I didn’t have to cure the nails with a UV lamp, and that there was less filing than with biogel. I decided not to go with extensions today, but that’s an option as well. So far I’m a fan! Do you prefer shellac, bio-gel, dip, or natural nails? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #springmani #dippowdernails #dipmanicure #toronto #torontonails #torontopr #dipnails #nailinspo #bluenails #shortnails #opidippowder #organicnailbar #organicnailbarto #kingwest #freshnails #nailstagram #simplenails #nailsalon

I love a good mask, and goodness knows my skin needs a bit of help nowadays! ➡️This is one of the products I featured in my blog post about Black-owned beauty brands. I love that it’s not too drying, makes my skin feel refreshed, is cruelty-free, and is part of the Clean at Sephora collection!
