Disclaimer: Products mentioned below were provided to me an no cost for editorial consideration. All opinions are my own.

It seems like Fall and Winter are always the busiest seasons. In a snap, we go from back to school to the new year! My Fall & Winter this year have been especially hectic. Between moving, the holiday season, some craziness at work, and getting myself resettled for 2020, it’s been tough to keep up my usual skincare and makeup routines. But these 10 products have been my saviours!

My 10 must-have recent faves are:

  • LANO Lanolips 101 Ointment
  • Bioderma Hydrabio Mist
  • Aveeno Detox Face Mask
  • Olay Brightening Overnight Gel Mask
  • Stila Magnum XXX Mascara
  • Caryl Baker Visage Divinity Collection
  • True Glue Beauty Wing Fling Liner
  • Graydon Skincare Face Glow Tinted Moisturizer & Primer
  • NIUCOCO Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo
  • Apothekari Skincare Natural Deodorant

Read on to find out more about each of these exciting products!

Skincare for Winter-Weary Skin

Lanolips 101 Ointment: Packed with ultra-moisturizing lanolin (yes, “Lanolin, like sheep’s wool” 😉 ), this 101 Ointment ($23) can be used as a lip treatment, on cuticles, on cracked nostrils, eyebrows, nails, and more! The thick balm has a smooth texture that doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. I like to put it on my lips before bed and let them drink in all that fabulous hydration overnight.

Bioderma Hydrabio Mist: When I spend more time indoors, the dry air irritates my skin pretty quickly. Bioderma’s Hydrabio Mist ($13.90) is incredibly soothing and refreshing, and helps reduce my redness throughout the day. It’s perfect for sensitive skin, since it’s alcohol-free, paraben-free, and fragrance-free. I keep a bottle in my desk drawer and give myself a quick spritz when my skin feels tight or hot.

Aveeno Detox Face Mask with Moringa Seed: The star ingredient of most Aveeno products is, of course, oat complex. This powerful Detox Face Mask ($15.49), however, also contains moringa seed to clarify and purify skin. The impressive ingredient list is rounded out by clay, vitamin E and squalane – all superpowers in the skincare world. I use this mask as part of my weekend routine, rebalancing my skin and treating clogged pores.

Olay Brightening Overnight Gel Mask: When I’m feeling a bit raggedy and need some extra help to keep my complexion bright, I turn to Olay’s Brightening Overnight Gel Mask ($28.99). The cooling gel feels amazing on my winter-weary skin, and absorbs slowly overnight. By the time I wake up, my face is visibly brighter. Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and Orange Blossom Flower extract are the mighty trio here, giving your skin a refreshed look that lasts for at least 24 hours. Take that, Daylight Savings!

Makeup to Slay on Any Day

Stila Magnum XXX Mascara: I generally don’t curl my lashes before applying makeup, so I rely on mascara to get the job done. For me, that means I want a mascara to provide curl, volume, and separation. Stila’s Magnum XXX Mascara ($30) absolutely fits the bill. Its smudge-proof formula even hydrates the lash line, meaning you won’t be seeing any flakes. And the unique cross-bristle brush catch even tiny baby eyelashes, resulting in major volume and lift for every lash.

Caryl Baker Visage Divinity Collection: My love for CBV is well-established, and this fab collection is no different. The Divinity Collection is all about mystery, magic, and glamour. The rich shades add instant appeal to any look, and the classic CBV formulas have major colour payoff and serious staying power. My faves are the blush in Tarot ($18), the eyeshadow in Divine and Virtuous ($14.40 each), and the lipstick in Devotion ($14.80).

True Glue Beauty Wing Fling Liner: Winged liner may be classic, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy to achieve! Local brand True Glue has come to the rescue, creating an easy-to-use Wing Fling Liner Stamp ($30.90) that gives you perfect cat-eye liner in mere seconds. These pens (one for each eye) include a wing stamp at one end and a felt-tip style liner pen on the other end. You just stamp at the corner, draw a line with the other end to join, and voilà! Plus, this liner is waterproof, vegan, cruelty-free, and all natural. You can’t go wrong!

Graydon Skincare Face Glow: This tinted moisturizer and primer is my secret weapon to having glowy skin throughout the winter months. Face Glow ($46) has a subtle rosy gold hue – created with actual rose gold mica and Smithsonite – that smoothes and perfects skin. You can wear this superstar product as a base, mixed with foundation, blended on top of makeup, or alone. Like all products from local brand Graydon Skincare, Face Glow is natural, cruelty-free, and free from SLS, parabens, sulfates, petroleum, and other toxic ingredients.

Naturally Fabulous Haircare & Body Care

NIUCOCO Dry Shampoo: On days I don’t wash my hair, I use dry shampoo to maintain my volume. Canadian brand NIUCOCO has created an innovative dry shampoo formula that includes coconut milk powder, aloe vera, and kaolin clay. This powerful but gentle combination quickly absorbs excess oil, soothes the scalp, and helps enhance natural sheen. The Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo ($29) is easy to use (just shake and squeeze), absorbs well, and has a pleasant natural coconut fragrance. There’s even a refill package available, so you can further reduce your eco-footprint and avoid buying another dispensing bottle! NIUCOCO products are sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, and vegan.

Apothekari Skincare Natural Deodorants: I love Apothekari Skincare’s natural deodorant so much that I did a giveaway for all 3 scents! As I mentioned in the post announcing the giveaway, I love this baking soda-free natural deodorant ($24) for its zesty fragrance and quick drying time, and for how well it works.

  • Lately, I’ve been feeling a more subtle look. ☁️ Swapping out the black winged liner for a smidge of grey; trading in the full-coverage base for something a little softer. Not exactly sure why, but so far, I like it. ✨ Wearing @milkmakeup sunshine skin tint in light* + @uomabeauty drama bomb mascara* + @annabellecosmetics kohl eyeliner in charcoal* + @madeupbeauty_ lip conditioner in piña colada* + @lysbeautyofficial bronzer in motivate *gifted products @shoppersbeauty @natapr_ @matinee.studio @lexprcanada —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #subtlemakeup #naturalmakeup #crueltyfreemakeup #torontopr #muotd #softmakeup #everydaymakeup #affordablemakeup #thoughtfulchoicesatshoppers

  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. • In case you haven’t heard (lol), it’s the @sephoracanada sale!
