Posted on April 28, 2011November 23, 2014 by Elaine

If you’re unfamiliar with the Petite Fashion Challenge go see the very first post proposing the idea by Jean of Extra Petite. This month’s challenge is hosted by the gorgeous Jessy of The Little Dust Princess. A little black dress (LBD) is essential in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s always great for back-up if you run…

WOW – No outfit pictures this week!!

Posted on October 22, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

Seriously, I feel like I keep getting busier and busier these days.   I also feel like as I get busier the days are waaaay shorter and I’m partly right — it’s so dark when I wake up and by the time I get home for the evening the sun is gone!  And we haven’t even…

Good Bye Summer….Hello Fall

Posted on September 23, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

I know it’s now officially Fall, but I have been absolutely crazy busy this week and super tired, so I haven’t had time to post a current outfit.  I thought it would be appropriate to post a summer outfit that was never used so it doesn’t go to waste 😉 Dress:  American Eagle Outfitters Belt: …

OOTD: Leopard print

Posted on September 19, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

I keep hearing about how animal prints are huge for this Fall – for many this is exciting – not so much for me!  I don’t know why but I’ve never been attracted to animal prints.  I think they look AMAZING on other people and am so envious of how they manage to make it…

OOTD: A (new) typical work outfit

Posted on September 14, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

I’m calling this a new typical work outfit because it’s not something I had ever worn together before but it makes a great typical work outfit for me!  It was actually inspired by Kelly at Alterations Needed when she “deconstructed” her go-to outfit.  I loved this idea of breaking an outfit down into elements.  I don’t…

OOTD (from the weekend) all in black

Posted on September 9, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

Even though I’ve been trying to wear brighter colours or add interesting elements of colour to my wardrobe sometimes black on black is just a really easy and pulled together look. Top:  Joe Fresh (cheap! a few years old.) 100% silk! Belt:  Winners Jeans: Gap Legging Jeans faded black wash size 00 regular Shoes:  Nine west…

OOTD: orange and brown

Posted on August 28, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

I used to HATE orange and brown together.  I think it’s because these were my elementary school colours and they were NOT put together well.  But the past few years this colour combination has grown on me.  It’s much better than orange and black as that always makes me think of Halloween. For this outfit…

OOT Weekend – Rainy Toronto Day

Posted on August 23, 2010November 4, 2014 by Elaine

It’s still quite hot and humid in Toronto but this weekend the rain just wouldn’t stop!  I started the day out in this same outfit minus the blazer and I had sandals on.  I don’t know about you but I HATE wet feet!!!!  It’s so uncomfortable!  I know it’s still summer, but I decided to…

  • The big reveal!!! TL;DR - removal was painless and left my nails in a WAYYYY better state than with dip or bio-gel removal I did still have some trouble with the ends being thin (defs needed to trim the length so they wouldn’t rip ), but the rest of the nail bed was so much more comfortable and healthy-looking than when I’ve had other long-wear manis removed ✅ All in all, I’d say I’m definitely an Après-X convert! Especially as someone who doesn’t want to get a mani every month, this is perfect for special occasions. The nails were really
  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. Available at @shoppersbeauty @shoppersdrugmart! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #winkylux #shoppersdrugmart #shoppersbeauty #drugstorebeauty #affordablemakeup #crueltyfreebeauty #crueltyfree #phlipbalm #moodring #colorchanging #lipbalm #torontopr #torontobeautybloggers
  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅

  • In case you haven’t heard (lol), it’s the @sephoracanada sale! A perfect time to explore new products - here are three of my top picks! @danessa_myricks @lysbeautyofficial @patmcgrathreal For more info on why I love each of these brands, check out my post about Black-Owned Beauty Brands on the blog! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #sephorasale #blackownedbeauty #danessamyricks #yummyskin #patmcgrathlabs #lysbeauty #luxurybeauty #crueltyfreebeauty #torontopr #bloggersofontario #beautywishlist #sephoravib #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors
