Keeping warm in a Sweater Dress

Posted on January 31, 2012 by Elaine

***The winner of my KORRES Canada giveaway is….Shaylee Anne….congratulations!  You will be contacted by email shortly!*** I was never a fan of sweater dresses. The ones that I had seen always seemed to look to hot and itchy or they were stretchy so very body conscious, which I totally don’t get – doesn’t that defeat…

Christmas Party Outfit

Posted on December 19, 2011 by Elaine

My husband’s work Christmas party was on Friday and I wasn’t sure what to wear.  I usually put more thought into my outfit but I have seriously been so super busy I’ve been taking it day by day! I put it out on twitter “red, white or navy”. I had 4 votes for red, 1…

Cirque du Soleil Totem

Posted on October 16, 2011 by Elaine

A few weeks back my husband got us tickets to see Cirque to Soleil Totem as an early anniversary celebration.  We have seen many Cirque shows in the past and I really think this one was one of my favorites!  They were REALLY strict about taking pictures in the venue so unfortunately I have none…

Pleats and Navy – These are a few of my favorite things

Posted on October 9, 2011 by Elaine

***Note:  I’m away on vacation so this is a scheduled post!  I may not be able to respond to comments as quickly as I’d like to!*** I’m a true “girly girl” and have always had a thing for pleats.  I’ve also always been drawn to grey.  Is is sad that essentially it’s my favorite colour?…

Another Petite Fashion Challenge is here! This time the challenge was hosted by the ever stylish Elle of Fast Food and Fast Fashion. This month’s challenge: …create an outfit that accounts for the various environmental factors that plague us in the summer. I want to know how you dress when it’s 90 degrees outside and…

Petite Fashion Challenge #8 – Spinning the Favorite

Posted on June 16, 2011 by Elaine

Petite Fashion Challenge #8 is graciously being hosted by Gracie of Radiator Sessions. The Challenge: “Spinning The Favorite”Many times we settle with a style and rarely venture out to explore new ways to piece clothes and style outfits in new and different ways. With this month, I’m hoping for all of us to venture out…

I belted a scarf!

Posted on May 15, 2011 by Elaine

Hmmm…so when blogger went down I lost my draft post, luckily I didn’t get very far with it! Anyway, since I’ve still been feeling under the weather, besides a blackberry picture I haven’t taken any photos! So here is an outfit from a while ago.  I was actually experimenting with belting a scarf the way…

Mustard and Turquoise

Posted on March 31, 2011December 21, 2014 by Elaine

So…here’s a question…how do you come up with blog post titles?  This title is based on the main colours of this outfit – nothing creative here!  I was inspired by Kelly’s use of colour from Petite Fashion Challenge #5 .  I just LOVED how the mustard cardigan was paired with the turquoise necklace – such a…

  • ✨ REST IS PRODUCTIVE ✨ @adam__malek got me this sticker for Christmas, and I genuinely cried when I saw it. I need the reminder. The idea that productivity = self-worth is so damaging, and one that is often marketed heavily in the new year. I struggle with the “I haven’t been busy enough to deserve a rest - guess I’ll just take on too many projects and then revenge procrastinate because of burnout and get no sleep, then scramble and feel like I need to do even more!” cycle. I feel compelled to list everything I’ve done on the weekend
  • This is a long video, and a change from our typical content, but it’s something I really wanted to hear your thoughts on. Did this sports team miss an opportunity? Was my student’s question too tough or unrealistic? We still had lots of fun at the pep rally, but the rewording of this question really bugged me. Is “follow your dreams” a satisfying answer in this case? —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #womeninsports #feminist #sexism #aagpbl #domore #mlb #sexisminsport #likeagirl #femaleathlete #foodforthought #bluejays #tbjwintertour #torontobluejays
