Jordan River Soapworks Products

{REVIEW} Jordan River Soapworks’ All-Natural Bath and Body Products

Posted on December 14, 2015March 30, 2020 by CL

I have a soft spot for indie beauty brands. With their commitment to using good-for-you ingredients and the exceptional love and care they put into each and every product, it’s not surprising that the quality of their products can often outshine that of big labels. I’m always excited to discover new Canadian indie natural beauty…

{REVIEW} NUDESTIX Eyebrow Stylus Pencil and Brow Wax

Posted on December 2, 2015December 1, 2015 by CL

Some say that eyebrows are the most important facial feature, and I wholeheartedly agree. I think that they are the key feature that makes a face stand out. As someone who doesn’t have nice, thick eyebrows, I’m always jealous of those who are blessed with a set of lush beauties. When I see women with…

REVIEW: PHYTO Phytokératine Extreme

Posted on November 4, 2015November 3, 2015 by CL

I’ve been extremely busy with work for the last two months or so. When my schedule is all over the place like it has been recently, the last thing that gets my attention is my hair. Even when I have all the time in the world, I tend to be low-maintenance when it comes to…

REVIEW: L’Oréal Colour Riche La Palette Nude 2

Posted on October 7, 2015March 30, 2020 by CL

I was ecstatic when Elaine asked me to try and review this eye shadow palette from L’Oréal. I was on the lookout for a basic nude eye shadow palette anyway, so the timing was just perfect. L’Oréal Colour Riche La Palette Nude 2 consists of ten highly-pigmented shades, ranging from champagne and pink-based brown hues…

Favourites from Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and Complete Salon Manicure Collections

Posted on September 30, 2015September 28, 2015 by CL

I like simplicity, especially when it comes to manicures. Elaborate nail art or professional gels are not my thing. I prefer plain nude or one-colour nails, and I usually do them myself. It’s a very simple procedure that involves a little bit of filing and buffing then applying two coats of nail polish and a…

4 Products for a Relaxing Home Spa Treatment

Posted on August 28, 2015March 30, 2020 by CL

I’m a little addicted to body scrubs at the moment. My stress melts away as the exfoliating granules stimulate circulation and slough off the dead skin cells. I’m loving the Jealous Body Scrub ($18.95) simple all-natural formula. Made with fresh coffee grounds, raw brown sugar, and sea salt, the handmade concoction also contains cold-pressed organic coconut oil and vitamin…

  • Lip balm that changes color depending on your skin’s pH?! @winky_lux pH Lip Balm goes on clear, then transforms to a perfect color based on your skin’s pH (level of acidity). It’s so fun to see what color the balm becomes! It’s giving major mood ring vibes The formula is silky (not sticky), and the color lasts pretty well! So far, I’m impressed. Available at @shoppersbeauty @shoppersdrugmart! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors #winkylux #shoppersdrugmart #shoppersbeauty #drugstorebeauty #affordablemakeup #crueltyfreebeauty #crueltyfree #phlipbalm #moodring #colorchanging #lipbalm #torontopr #torontobeautybloggers

  • In case you haven’t heard (lol), it’s the @sephoracanada sale! A perfect time to explore new products - here are three of my top picks! @danessa_myricks @lysbeautyofficial @patmcgrathreal For more info on why I love each of these brands, check out my post about Black-Owned Beauty Brands on the blog! —————————————————————————— #torontobeautyreviews #sephorasale #blackownedbeauty #danessamyricks #yummyskin #patmcgrathlabs #lysbeauty #luxurybeauty #crueltyfreebeauty #torontopr #bloggersofontario #beautywishlist #sephoravib #mytbrfave #tbrcontributors
  • The big reveal!!! TL;DR - removal was painless and left my nails in a WAYYYY better state than with dip or bio-gel removal I did still have some trouble with the ends being thin (defs needed to trim the length so they wouldn’t rip ), but the rest of the nail bed was so much more comfortable and healthy-looking than when I’ve had other long-wear manis removed ✅ All in all, I’d say I’m definitely an Après-X convert! Especially as someone who doesn’t want to get a mani every month, this is perfect for special occasions. The nails were really
  • Nail extensions that last weeks but don’t damage your natural nails?!?! Check out the process for getting Après-X nail extensions! There aren’t many salons in Toronto that offer this service, but so far, I’m a fan! I love bio-gel, but I have the WEAKEST nails, so after I get the extensions removed, my nails shred and take forever to grow back out. I heard about this soak-off style, and couldn’t wait to check it out for myself! I haven’t gotten them removed yet, but I’ll update you all when I do! ✅ durable like bio-gel ✅ light and thin ✅✅✅
